Hello and welcome! I am Lisa, owner and editor at Next Page Editing. My passion is editing – finding those hard to spot misspellings, answering tough grammar questions, and ultimately making a text as easy as possible for the audience to digest.
Education
My journey into the world of words began at Black Hills State University where I majored in English with minors in Writing and Philosophy. While completing my degree, I worked in the University Writing Center where I had my first taste of working one on one with authors.
From there, I continued my education at Miami University of Ohio, where I received my Master of Technical and Scientific Communication. In addition to my course work, I taught sections of the Technical Writing course.
Industry Experience
Starting in January 2009, I worked as a technical editor and eventual proposal/marketing editor for an engineering firm. In this role, I worked closely with engineers and scientists to convey a technical message to specific audiences. I coordinated technical edits on proposals and project documents with internal clients across the company.
From there, I transitioned into a business development coordinator role with an investment consulting firm. In this role, I coordinated, edited, and executed proposals and marketing campaigns, including weekly emails, white papers, and quarterly webinars.
